Life continues....

I started this blog with the intention of doing regular posts on my baking adventures.... However, a combination of work and appliance failure has led to a rather sad and un-exciting start to this blog.

My work is something I take a great deal of pride in and as a social worker- something I hope to post more about as time goes on- my job can be very stressful and exhausting at times. I feel as if my work has been extra exhausting as I am transitioning to a new job at the Main Hospital. I am very excited about this move as it will mean new job responsibilities and a change in pace. However, I am very sad to leave some very special co-workers and friends. I know that they will continue to be a part of my life, but in a different way. I am also very excited for new management and leadership. I look forward to feeling supported and having my strengths and assets used and appreciated on a regular basis. Sometimes it is the small things that matter the most- have a leader who values you and encourages continual growth. I know that under this new leadership I will flourish.

In addition to stressful work conditions, I have found myself in a bit of a cooking predicament. Initially, my oven seemed to be slowly dying. I invested in an oven thermometer and found myself hoping and praying every time I tried to bake something. Some things turned out fine and other times I ended up with partially unbaked food items. Then the inevitable happened- my stove went out. Now I was stuck without an oven or a stove. Now how is a baker supposed to survive without a stove.... and so close to Thanksgiving!! Luckily, I have plans to see my sister on Thanksgiving and will be able to use her fancy schmancy oven to bake all my holiday goodies in. The good news is that I ordered a new oven and dishwasher this past weekend. I cannot wait to share pictures of my new appliances when they come in.

In the meantime, I hope everyone has a blessed Thanksgiving. I hope that I can begin to share baking adventures in my new oven soon!!!
